Description: Sorrel herb is a perennial herb in the family
Polygonaceae, and widely used as a Traditional folk medicine. The
whole herb is used for medicine with cooling blood and
detoxification effect. Contains naphthoquinone and phenolic acids,
Sorrel can stop bleeding, antibacterial and stop itch effect.
Sorrel is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C and oxalic acid. Moreover,
the content of crude protein is up to 30%, which is of high value
for feeding. In Japan, a variety of naphthalene compounds isolated
from Sorrel herb has been patented and developed for the treatment
of skin diseases.
Pharmacological activity: Modern pharmacology shows that Sorrel
herb has antifungal, antiviral, anti-tumor and antioxidant effects.
1. Antibacterial activity. Antibacterial substances contained in
Sorrel herb has an inhibitory effect on staphylococcus, Escherichia
coli and yeast, can be used as sterilizing agents for food. Also,
Sorrel herb can be used in the treatment of psoriasis.
2. Antioxidant activity.
3. Hemostatic activity. Containing chrysophanol, Sorrel can
